My tech setup

Date: June 30, 2025

I want to start this habit of writing, but I couldn't think of anything interesting to write today, so I'm writing about the electronics I use.

Not that I'm someone with anything particularly interesting to say

I use one laptop and two phones

My laptop is an old Dell Latitude. It runs win 11 and linux mint in dual boot. I keep Windows around because I occasionally need it for college assignments. Otherwise, I'd shrink its partition and give the space to Mint to stop using an external hard drive.

I ran out of space, so I went to buy an external SSD — but that shit's expensive. So instead, I scavenged an HDD from an old laptop (I ruined its motherboard while cleaning it couple months ago), bought an adapter, and now I use that drive. I keep it in a plastic bag on my desk. It works, it's useful, but I can't really take it anywhere i'd look broke, and it makes noise, i just keep big, unimportant stuff on it that I dont want to delete.

Moving on, I have two phones: an old Samsung I found, and a Huawei that I use as my main phone.

The Samsung is mostly for reading web novels cuz it's small and light in my pocket. I also use it as an MP3 player. The Huawei has decent specs, almost like a mid-tier laptop. I tried gaming on it, but I got bored fast.

I've never really been into gaming except for some open world games like Fallout: New Vegas and a few small indie games (I forgot their names), gaming feels like a waste of time and money. Never spend money on games or consoles, especially not for online games.

Open world games are probably the only genre worth wasting some time on, maybe it's because of that thing called escapism ,idk.
